Electoral Signs
Upper Hutt City Council Guidelines For Electoral Signs - 2008 General Elections
General Requirements For All Signs
1.
Signs are to be a professional standard and not greater than 3.0m2 in area.
2.
Signs are able to be erected two months prior to the 2008 Election Day, and shall be removed by the close of day before polling day.
3.
All signs, whether located on private property or otherwise, shall comply with the ‘Electoral (Advertisements of a Specified Kind) Regulations 2005’.
Signs on Council Land
4.
One electoral sign for the party and one electoral sign for the candidate are able to be erected at the following locations (please refer to attached mapped locations).
(i)
On the berm of Akatarawa Road adjacent to the intersection with State Highway 2, but not visible from State Highway 2, as identified on the attached map.View Map (pdf, 2.19MB)

On the western berm of Totara Park Road between the bridge and the first roundabout with Totara Park Road.View Map (pdf, 2.25MB)

Signs on Private Land
5.
Signs on private land are required to comply with points 1-3 mentioned above.
6.
One sign per site is permitted.
7.
For signs on sites fronting State Highway 2, approval from the New Zealand Transport Agency is required.
